> ## Agent Instructions
> The PyPI package is graphifyy, with two y's. The command is graphify.
> /graphify . is typed in an assistant chat, not in a shell.
> Use only commands, flags, and endpoints shown on these pages. Do not invent one.
> Choose the surface before you open a page. Local (Graphify Local) is the graphifyy package on the machine: the skill, the CLI, and the ten-tool MCP. Its pages are the Open Source tab (/open-source/) and the Graphify Local tab on each Integrations page. Graphify is the hosted workspace and https://api.graphify.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP, OAuth, no API key). Its pages are the Graphify tab (/platform/, /concepts/) and the Graphify (hosted) tab on each Integrations page. Prefer Graphify unless the user asks for a local or offline setup. Cookbooks (/cookbooks/) and /mcp/docs-search apply to both. Each page's source frontmatter records this as surface: local, cloud, or both. Buildkite is the CI integration.
> In llms.txt, tell the surface from the page path. Graphify: /platform/ and /concepts/. Local: /open-source/. Most /integrations/ pages cover both, with a Graphify (hosted) tab and a Graphify Local tab. Everything else applies to both.
> graphifyy release notes are published at https://github.com/Graphify-Labs/graphify/releases and https://graphify.com/changelog. The current package version is on PyPI (https://pypi.org/project/graphifyy/).
> The official site is https://graphify.com. These docs are https://docs.graphify.com.
> The local MCP server is the ten tools in the MCP tool reference and reads a graph on the machine. The hosted server is https://api.graphify.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP, OAuth, no API key). The JetBrains, ChatGPT, Codex, and Dots, and Vercel pages use the hosted server, not the ten-tool list. On pages with tabs, the Graphify (hosted) tab uses the hosted server and the Graphify Local tab uses the local skill or the ten-tool server.
> Read https://docs.graphify.com/llms.txt, then open one page's .md link. Use https://docs.graphify.com/llms-full.txt only when one page is not enough.

# How Graphify works

> What happens between connecting a repository and your agent asking the graph a question: indexing, updates, and the hosted MCP server.

Graphify builds a knowledge graph of each repository you connect, keeps it current as you push, and serves it to your coding agents and your team.

> **Before you start**
>
> * A Graphify account. Sign in at [app.graphify.com](https://app.graphify.com). New accounts start on a 14-day Pro trial, no card required.
> * A repository on GitHub or GitLab (gitlab.com) that you can install an app on or grant access to.
> * A coding agent that supports remote MCP servers, such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or VS Code.

## 1. Connect a source

Install the Graphify GitHub App, or connect GitLab, and choose the repositories Graphify can read. Graphify asks only for the access it needs to read code and post reviews. See [Repositories](https://docs.graphify.com/platform/repositories.md).

## 2. Index the repository

When you switch on **Indexing** for a repository, Graphify builds a graph from the latest commit on its default branch. Each build runs in an isolated job that checks out that exact commit with short-lived, repository-scoped credentials.

The build uses the same open source engine as [Graphify Local](https://docs.graphify.com/open-source/quickstart.md): it parses code with tree-sitter, links calls, imports, and references across files, and groups related code into communities. [How the graph is built](https://docs.graphify.com/concepts/architecture.md) covers each stage.

## 3. Stay current

Every push to the default branch starts a new build. Your agents keep using the previous graph until the new one is ready, so a build in progress never leaves them without answers.

## 4. Use the graph

* **In the console**: explore [Graphs](https://docs.graphify.com/platform/graphs.md), read the generated [Wiki](https://docs.graphify.com/platform/wiki.md), and [trace](https://docs.graphify.com/platform/trace.md) who calls a function.
* **In your agent**: connect the hosted MCP server at `https://api.graphify.com/mcp`. Your agent signs in with OAuth and queries the graph with tools such as `graphify_node`, `graphify_callers`, and `graphify_impact`. See [Integrations](https://docs.graphify.com/integrations/overview.md).
* **On pull requests**: [Reviews](https://docs.graphify.com/platform/reviews.md) check each change against the graph and the diff.

## 5. Learn from your team

Replies such as `@graphify wrong` or `@graphify good` on a review feed [Learning](https://docs.graphify.com/platform/learning.md). Agents can save what they learn about a repository to [Memory](https://docs.graphify.com/platform/memory.md), which every assistant and teammate in the workspace can read.
